It’s been a minute since I’ve checked in! Ok, more like months. I’ve been a super busy shutterbug this year, which means I’ve a lot to fill you in on, but first it’s time to spill the tea….. Dun, Dun, Dun….. Our family of 6 will soon become a family of 7! I’m pregnant!! Whoa – hold on, I’m kidding! Four kiddos, and while they are amazing, is enough for me! Not to mention that my oldest turns 21 in 9 days!!! You’re right it’s impossible for a thirty something, ok, ok, 40 something mom to have a kid who will soon be able to buy me a bottle of Sangria! Believe me, it blows my mind too! Anyway, our daughter, Kierstyn, is now engaged to her love, Brock!!! We weren’t shocked, mostly because he did right thing by asking us first. Serious bonus points were given, not that he needed them, but still. Fun Fact – when they tie the knot, they will be the exact same ages as we were when we vowed to walk this life together, which I might add was the best decision, Jon ever made!! HA! It was for sure my best decision! Brock is in the Coast Guard, so after the wedding Kiers will be joining him in Alaska for 6 months to a year and then they will transfer elsewhere for 4 years. I will miss her terribly, but I am so excited for the adventure in front of her, and I see a glacier photoshoot in my near future!! She asked me what advice I would give for their first year of marriage. I told her that when they have a disagreement, she CANNOT, under and circumstances, go for a walk to cool down because she could be eaten by a Kodiak Grizzly! The bathroom will have to do! She laughed, until just yesterday, when Brock was chased by such an animal while he was fishing for Salmon! Thankfully the mama bear just ran through the water and then stopped. Video footage helped to drive home the bathroom cool down disscusion! My Dad always said that he”d taught me everything I know, but not everything that he knew. I’m just passing the torch. 😉
Alrighty, I’m about to cue up the DVR and catch up on a few flicks. Have a great week and stay away from wild animals, unless they are your children, then just head to the bathroom to cool down!
